On May 19, fans of Tech N9ne and E-40 from across Nashville and beyond packed Marathon Music Works, racing to claim spots at the barricade in anticipation for the night. On this “Strange Wid’ It Tour,” the show brought together co-headlining powerhouses Bay Area rap legend E-40 alongside Kansas City's independent rapper Tech N9ne, along with opener King Iso, a standout artist from Tech N9ne’s Strange Music label.
E-40
E-40 has long stood as one of the Bay Area’s most influential voices, bringing his unmistakable flow and larger-than-life personality to the national stage. A platinum-selling rapper and entrepreneur, E-40 helped pioneer Northern California’s rap movement while building his own empire through Sick Wid It Records. His 1995 breakthrough album, In a Major Way, cemented his place in hip-hop history and expanded the reach of Bay Area rap far beyond the West Coast, influencing generations of artists from both coasts and in between.

Next to take the stage was E-40, the multiplatinum Bay Area rap icon whose larger-than-life personality and unmistakable delivery have made him one of hip-hop’s most innovative voices. From the moment he stepped onstage, E-40 commanded the crowd with effortless charisma, instantly igniting the room with an infectious wave of energy.
Fans erupted as he rolled through a string of classic hits, including Choices (Yup), U and Dat, his highest-charting solo Billboard hit, and the Bay Area anthem Tell Me When to Go, produced by Lil Jon.
